Our team of vets..
All of our vets are responsible for the healthcare of animals presented to the surgery. They are able to offer a full range of diagnosis and treatment for all common companion animal species.
Patrick Dale
Patrick Dale qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from Liverpool University in 1986. He worked in Frome in Somerset for a year after graduation which helped him develop an interest in both horses and small animals. Subsequently working in a truly mixed practice in Henley Arden in Warwickshire, also gave him experience with cattle and sheep.
Settling in Tring in 1988 then led him into rather a happy niche, dealing once more with both horses and small animals, but ultimately from 2003 with small animals only.
Patrick is mainly in the operating theater as he has completed a General Practitioners certificate in Small Animal Surgery and in Endoscopy and Endosurgery.
Amongst many other interests, he lives at home with his wife Helen, three cats and many sheep!
Helen Dale
Helen grew up in Lancashire and gained her degree in veterinary science from Liverpool university in 1989 which is where she met her husband Patrick.
After getting married, she has lived in the local area for over 30 years whilst raising their three daughters and working as a small animal vet at another local practice.
Helen joined the clinical team at Springwell in 2020 having at last realised that working with her husband wasn't so bad after all! In her spare time she enjoys keeping fit, cold water swimming being a particular favourite.

She has three English Springer Spaniels - Lottie, Maggie and Willow, a Border Collie - Nellie, a Rhodesian Ridgeback - Tally, two cats - Owen and Cosmic and two horses - Jack and Carlo.
The animals have plenty of space though as she lives locally on a dairy farm with her Husband and two children, so it isn't as crazy as it seems!
